PROJECT DESCRIPTION

As one of the oldest communities in Birmingham, Woodlawn is experiencing revitalization efforts to restore it back to its past glory. The Woodlawn Foundation has taken center stage in these efforts, revitalizing businesses and housing, making this the new hot neighborhood in Birmingham.

The Cottages on Georgia Road involves the construction of eight (8) low-income cottages. The project features a community lawn and a pavilion. Driveways to each cottage were designed using permeable concrete grass pavers allowing stormwater runoff to percolate back into the ground and reducing the need of a detention pond.

Efforts are being coordinated with other architectural disciplines to provide a comprehensive design.  Engineering services include topographic survey, civil site design, site grading and drainage plan, erosion and sediment control plans, utility systems design, civil construction details and construction administration.
